Liquid products for the dairy sector are supplied through our Dairy Gold product line and our Liquid Protein Supplement (LPS) Lick tank product.

Dairy Gold is a TMR enhancer product line designed for on-farm mixing while the traditional Liquid Protein Supplement LPS42 is designed for free choice lick tank feeding.

Liquid feed supplements are nutrient dense, highly palatable and easy to use.

Rumen Bugs

LFI products feed the rumen bugs.  The sugars (soluble carbohydrates) stimulate the fiber digesting rumen bacteria so they can breakdown the forage fiber into volatile fatty acids (VFA’s) which the cows use for energy. The nutrients in LFI liquid products allow the rumen bugs to grow and multiple. Rumen bacteria are also the highest quality protein for cattle so by increasing rumen bacteria, your increasing rumen protein.

 

Sugars

The common ingredients in both Dairy Gold and LPS is Louisiana cane molasses and further supplemented with several other sources of sugars. All sugars are not created equally; some rumen bugs prefer sugar from molasses (sucrose), other prefer sugars for corn syrup (fructose), others from whey (lactose) etc – so LFI products supply sugars from at least 4 sources – which maximizes rumen microbial production.

 

Protein

LFI products contain high levels of soluble protein to complement the sugars.  Soluble protein / Nitrogen is required by the rumen bugs for rapid bacterial growth. NPN sources used in LPS utilize a slow-release technology that supplies Nitrogen in the rumen at the same rate as soybean meal.

 

Rumen Fermentation

Optimizing rumen fermentation is the name of the game. LFI sugar rich products, combined with soluble protein, provide excellent nutrients for the rumen microbial population  - which allows for optimal rumen fermentation. By using LFI products, your cows are getting more energy out of your forages and generating more high quality microbial protein which lead to improved efficiency and health – positively impacting your bottom line.
